I had immense fun conducting another Team Building workshop for the employees of Rainbow Housing, Pune on 8th Dec 2012. The objectives of the workshop were to:

  • Understand the Essentials of an Effective Team
  • Understand Barriers to Effective Teamwork
  • Understand People in a Team
  • Understand Stages in Team Building
  • Understand What Effective Teams do
  • Build Trust amidst team members
  • Learn Conflict Management in Teams

A team is any group of people organized to work together interdependently and cooperatively to meet the needs of their customers by accomplishing a purpose and goals. A team works most effectively when everyone is completely open with one another. You know your co-workers very well, and there is a solid foundation of trust. As a result of this positive working environment, you probably accomplished a great deal with this group. Most of us realize that teams rely on trust in order to function productively, but how do you go about building that trust? Johari window a model developed by Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham in 1955 is an excellent tool for illustrating and improving self-awareness, and mutual understanding and trust between individuals within a group. The team had super fun using this tool to discover themselves and their team members. The other tools used in the workshop were : Shape Personality Type Profiling and Bruce Tuckman’s Forming – Storming – Norming – Performing  model of group development.

The day was well spent conducting various learning activities for experiential learning.DSC00012 - Copy
